ROYAL
RAJASTHAN WITH PUSHKAR MELA
A
cultural tour of
India
India is world of it’s own. The rich
culture and heritage keeps Indians determined
to cherish
their cultural heritage. It is also a land of
many religions and innumerable festivals
celebrating
the many historical events. One of the most important
legend has it when Lord Brahma dropped a lotus
which when it touched the ground created a sacred
lake. This is believed to have taken place at
Pushkar in Rajasthan where pilgrims meet
every year and
where we will be.
The most colorful and major festivals in India
is a weeklong celebration of what is called the
Pushkar Mela. People trade camels and other livestock,
enjoy camel safaris, organize animal races with
the evenings dedicated to folk dancing, feasting,
horoscope reading, etc.
This 21-day artistically tailored journey takes
us not only to the Pushkar Mela but also to rural
Rajasthan where we overnight in world renowned
palace like desert dwellings, with its own unique
local architecture. Rajasthan is the land of
colorfully dressed and very friendly people.
Continuing our
journey, another highlight is the full moon night
at the Taj Mahal – the building that by far
expresses best the epoch of love. We will see the
Taj at it’s best.
Before
we do all this we will have an unforgettable
experience as we give something to India and
it’s
people by spending two days painting a village
school.
