A cultural tour to Botswana & Zambia

Botswana is one of the few remaining destinations in Africa that still provides a good sense of the adventure of an authentic African safari. Its expansive game parks and preserves, while offering wildlife as diverse and abundant as that found anywhere else, are still largely undeveloped and untamed. The Botswana Explorer gives a good insight into the gem of Africa with an added attraction of viewing the majestic Victoria Falls.

Day 03: (TUE) Mokoro Trip, Okavango Delta, Botswana
After breakfast we leave the camp for Boat station. From here, we will float in Mokoros through the thick vegetation of the Okavango Delta discovering a variety of birds and wildlife. Unlike other Delta’s in the world, it flows into the Kalahari Desert without reaching the coast, which makes it unique. (B, L, D)

Day 04: (WED) Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana
After having explored the Khwai area we now head into the famous Moremi game reserve known as one of the most beautiful and varied reserves in Africa with an unprecedented concentration of wildlife. The day is spent enjoying and exploring the unspoiled nature of the Moremi Game Reserve. (B, L, D)

Day 05: (THU) Kwai River – Maun – Makgadikgadi Pans, Botswana
Via Maun, we head for Nata Lodge lying close to the Makgadikgadi Pans. En route we will stop at the pans to have a closer look and appreciate the wide-open, uninhabited spaces under the endless canopy of blue sky. Once we have settled in our lodge, we tale part in a 1-hour quad bike tour with local guides, learning about the history, flora and fauna of the area.

Day 06: (FRI) Makgadikgadi Pans – Chobe National Park, Botswana
Destination today is the famous Chobe River. After the morning’s scenic drive we have the afternoon to laze at the lodge. Once we have reached the Lodge and settled into our accommodation, we enjoy a sunset cruise on the Chobe River. Here we watch elephants, hippos, lions, crocodiles and a variety of birds and more without having to reach fir our binoculars – as this is the day when you get very close shots of Africa’s best game life.

Day 07: (SAT) Chobe National Park, Botswana – Livingstone, Zambia
A morning departure takes us from Kubu Lodge into Zambia. We cross the Zambezi River by ferry and drive to Maramba Lodge, where we spend the night. This afternoon we explore the mighty Victoria Falls, one of the most revered Seven Natural Wonders of the World, on a guided walk.

Day 08: (SUN) Livingstone / departure
The saying is correct but say – that all good things have to come to an end. After a spectacular journey into Namibia’s heartland wildlife with the Victoria Falls, we bid farewell as we are transferred to the airport for our departure flight. (B)
