This is a land of such great diversity and textures that one gets blown away by the colors, cultures, hospitality, food and landscape. It covers some of the most scenic and beautiful cities of Europe including Sarjevo, Dubrovnik, Plitvice and a lot more. It will be an experience into medieval Europe - relived.

Day 01: Arrive Sarajevo (BOSNIA)

Welcome to Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia. As we are welcomed at the airport we notice immediately the beauty of this historical city.  Check in time starts from 1500 hrs.  Tonight we join the other tour participants on a welcome dinner.

Day 02: Sarajevo

Sarajevo - Bosnia & Hergovina's multicultural capital

Sarajevo, capital of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been influenced by a number of cultures and civilization. We take a morning tour the picturesque Turkish bazaar “Bas Carsija”, the Husref Bay’ Mosque, Olympic Stadium and Gavrilo Princip Museum. Afternoon is free to enjoy beautiful Sarajevo by walking through the bazaar and meeting local friendly folks. (B)

Day 03: Sarajevo/Dubrovnik (Drive) (CROATIA)

A drive thought the marvelous gorge of the Neretva River to Mostar. Here, see the remains of the Turkish quarter and the 16th century stone bridge. Free time before dinner.

Day 04: Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik – gem of the Adriatic. The historical and scenic sites are best seen on foot so we take a walking tour commencing with “Old Dubrovnik.”  We see the Rector’s Palace, Bell Tower Clock, Orlando’s Column and the Sponza Palace. Later we see the Dominican Monastery and Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world. The rest of the day is at leisure so that you may want to actually enter some of the above sites. (B)

Day 05: Dubrovnik/Split (Drive)

Depart Dubrovnik and travel north along the spectacular Adriatic coast, past old fishing villages and new resorts, to Split. Enjoy a city tour featuring the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. See the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, in the Peristyle and the Cathedral.

Day 06: Split/Trogir/Plitvice Lakes (Drive)

After breakfast, head to Trogir, the center of artistic activities. Scholars from around the world gather to study and paint here. Then we turn inland and travel to Plitvice Lakes National Park. Upon arrival, have your camera ready and take a walking tour around several of the lower lakes. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of this national wonder of 16 terraced lakes surrounded by thickly wooded mountains and lush vegetation.

Day 07: Plitvice Lakes/Opatija/Postonja (Drive) (SLOVENIA)/Bled (Drive)

Return to the coast and travel along the beautiful bay of Kvarner to its popular resort, Opatija. After some free time, journey north to Postonja, home to one of the largest caves in Europe. Tour the fantastic subterranean world by miniature electric train. Afterwards, continue to Bled, beautifully set amidst the Julian Alps.

Day 08: Bled

Our tour of Bled features the charming town with the lakeshore with the imposing Bled Castle, perched on a cliff high above the lake. The balance of the day is at leisure for optional activities, such as visiting the small island in the middle of the lake. (B)

Day 09: Bled/Ljubljana/Zagreb (Drive) (CROATIA)

We begin the day with a walking tour of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Visit the most significant sights on f the old city center: the picturesque Central open-air Market and the Three Bridges, both designed by famous architect Joze Plecnik, Baroque Town Hall and Robba’s Fountain. Then, continue to Zagreb, the capital city of Croatia.

Day 10: Zagreb

This morning we enjoy a city tour featuring the historic Upper Town, St. Mark’s Church, ST. Catherine’s Church, the Cathedral, the Parliament and the Government Palace. Balance of the day is at leisure to explore the winding streets of the old town or take an optional excursing to the countryside. (B)

Day 11: Depart Zagreb

After breakfast we are transferred to the airport for our departure flight. Check out time is by 1100 hrs. – an ideal opportunity to extend or join one of Bestway’s different tours programs. (B)
