Day 01 Oct 11, 2015: Depart Vancouver for Istanbul
Our exciting Travel Turkey journey starts as we board our morning Air Canada flight to Istanbul. Flight departs YVR at 0800hrs.
Day 02 Oct 12, 2015: Arrive Istanbul
Arrival at Istanbul – rightfully rated as one of the most beautfiful cities in the world. Scheduled arrival is at 0925AM. We are warlmy received and we are transferred to our hotel. Balance of the day is free for us to recoup from the flight and be ready for our Turkish Delights.

Day 03 Oct 13, 2015: Istanbul Full Day
After breakfast we start with an exciting day tour of Istanbul. We start with the ancient Roman Hippodrome; the former center of sportive and political activities of Constantinople. Then we see the Obelisk from Egypt, Serpentine Column from Delphi and the fountain of Wilhelm II. Next is the incredible St Hagia Sophia; the magnificent Byzantine Church of all times and one of the finest and largest architectural works of art in the world. We continue our Sultanahmet tour to yet another highlight - the Blue Mosque; famous for its delicate blue ceramic tiles and unique with its 6 minarets built in the name of Sultan Ahmed. We end the day at the Grand Covered Bazaar - the most world’s largest traditional souq (bazaar) housing some 4000 shops of antiques, jewelers, gold, carpets and leatherwear. (B)
Day 04 Oct 14, 2015: Istanbul/Ankara/Cappadocia
A comfortable drive to the cpital city of Ankara where we see the Mausoleum of Ataturk and its Museum which is also the burial place of the national hero who founded modern day Turkey. After a picturesque trip along the Salt Lake, we arrive at Cappadocia – rightly termed as an open air museum.

Day 05 Oct 15, 2015: Cappadocia Full day
An optional early morning Balloon safari. Then, it is a full day excursion in Cappadocia including visits to the Open Air Museum in Goreme and natural fortress in Uchisar. An unusual expereince of having lunch in a cave restaurant serving the famous pottery kebabs. Here, we will have the opportunity to discover and understand the rich history behind local handicrafts like hand-made carpets, Turkish tiles, onyx and potteries. We will also visit the Uchisar Castle. Evening you are free to enjoy an optional Turkish musical show combined with dinner. (B, L)
Day 06 Oct 16, 2015: Cappadocia/Konya/Pamukkale
We start with a visit of the 13th century Seljukian masterpiece Sultanhan Caravanserai before arriving at Konya – the centre of Mevlana Rumi and his whilring dervishes. We visit Mevlana’s Mausoleum and get to know of his life, philosphy and his role in starting the Suffi order. This will be a unique opportunity to learn abot the great master. From here we continue for Pamukkale.

Day 07 Oct 17, 2015: Pamukkale/Izmir
We start with a visit to the ancient city of Hierapolis housing a 1200 gravestone necropolis. We visit the sacred pool – a highlight of this site where shallow thermal waters ripple over a wonderful scattering of ancient roman rumins that lie beneath. We continue our drive to Selcuk to visit the Temple of Artemis ‘‘one of the seven wonders of the ancient world” and then continue to the enchanting city of Izmir.

Day 08 Oct 18, 2015: Izmir/Ephesus/Sirince/Izmir
An incrdeible and historical expereince as we visit the ancient city of Ephesus. Here we visit the magnificent library theater and temples followed by yet another highlight – lunch in a nomadic tent enjoying the delicious Turkish Gozleme. A different scene as we enjoy experiencing life in the traditional and beautiful village of Sirince. Time for shopping and wine tasting before returning to our hotel in Izmir.(B, L, D)
Day 09 Oct 19, 2015: Izmir/Pergamum/Canakkale
Early morning we depart for Bergama and visit the Asklepion with its well preserved remains before continuing to the historical city of Troy - the site where the legendary Trojan War took place. Drive to Canakkale for an overnight stay.

Day 10 Oct 20, 2015: Canakkale/Gallipoli/Istanbul
After breakfast, we visit the ancient city of Troy - a 5000 years old archaeological site.Then you will see a reconstruction of the fabled Wooden Horse, which was used in the Trojan War. From here we continue for Istanbul. Evening is free.

Day 11 Oct 21, 2015: Istanbul/Depart for home city
After a wonderful tour of the Turkish Delights we are transferred to the airport for our flight back home. Flight departs at 1055AM and arrival same day at Vancouver at 8PM. (B)
