DAY 2 MUMBAI Explore the Gateway
of India, Elephanta Caves*, the Victorian
Gothic and Art Deco Ensembles of
Mumbai* Prince of Wales Museum, famous
Chattrapati Shivaji Terminus* and Mani
Bhawan Museum. Then discover the
Hanging Gardens, Crawford Market and
Dhobi Ghat, the city's oldest laundry. Free

DAY 3 MUMBAI • KOCHI (Flight)
Flight to Kochi and transfer to our hotel.

DAY 4 KOCHI Visit St. Francis Church,
Santa Cruz Cathedral, the Jewish Quarter
with its Old Synagogue, and the Dutch Palace.
Then cruise by boat to Bolghatty Palace and
the Chinese fishing nets. Enjoy a Kathakali
Dance Performance in the evening. (B, D)
DAY 5 KOCHI • THEKKADY (Drive) Travel
from the Malabar coast through the gentle
hills of Kerala to Thekkady, where we visit a
spice plantation. Overnight: Poetree Sarovar

DAY 6 THEKKADY A unique experience as
we embark on a Jungle Walk at the Periyar
Wildlife Sanctuary, followed by a leisurely
boat ride on Lake Periyar, with chance to see
elephants, sambal and more. (B, D)
DAY 7 THEKKADY • ALLEPPEY (Drive)
We drive down to Alleppey, on the Malabar
Coast, to board our traditional houseboat and
begin our journey through the picturesque

DAY 8 ALLEPPEY • KOVALAM (Drive)
Disembark at Alleppey and journey to
Kovalam. Free day to enjoy the beach.

DAY 9 KOVALAM Enjoy a traditional
Ayurvedic rejuvenation massage and relax on
the beach. (B, D)
DAY 10 KOVALAM • KANYAKUMARI •
MADURAI (Drive) A scenic drive takes us
to Kanyakumari, where we visit Temple
of Goddess Kumari and the Vivekananda
Rock Memorial, marking the southernmost
tip of India. Lunch at a local restaurant, then
continue to Madurai. Overnight: Heritage

DAY 11 MADURAI Explore Sri Meenakshi
Temple, one of the country's greatest structures,
as well as Tirumalai Nayak Temple and the
Temple Art Museum. Afternoon free. (B, D)
DAY 12 MADURAI • THANJAVUR (Drive)
We experience rural Tamil Nadu on our way to
Thanjavur to visit the Brihadishwara Temple*,
as well as Tanjore Palace and Museum.

DAY 13 THANJAVUR • PONDICHERRY
(Drive) Journey to the former French colony of
Pondicherry and visit famous Sri Aurobindo
Ashram, with residents from around the world.

MAHABALIPURAM • CHENNAI (Drive)
Travel along with the Coromandel Coast
to Mahabalipuram* to visit the group of
sanctuaries founded by the Pallava Kings.
Continue to Chennai with the rest of the day
free to relax or explore.

DAY 15 CHENNAI Visit the National Art
Gallery and Museum, St. Mary's Church,
People's Park and Marina Beach. Afternoon

DAY 16 DEPART CHENNAI Free day in
Chennai followed by a farewell dinner before
we are transferred to the airport for our
departure flight. (B, D)
