It is the equivalent of the Old City in other cities. Admire the architecture of the old houses, churches and buildings in Spanish Colonial and Baroque styles. This neighbourhood houses several universities, libraries and museums. Walk across the main square Simon Bolivar, along the government buildings, and reach the famous Gold Museum, which holds the world’s largest collection of pre-Hispanic gold art. We also visit Fernando Botero Museum, which focuses on the well-known Colombian painter and sculptor. (B)

Day 03: Bogota

Today we drive to the fertile plateau Zipaquirá to visit the famous underground salt cathedral, a monumental architectural masterpiece built by the miners' own hands. Inside we find crosses, angels and the Madonna statue. In addition to the main cathedral, there are small chapels and Stations of the Cross. The 14 stations are interconnected with labyrinthine tunnels.   Next, we will be driving up over 3000 m (9840 ft) to the entrance of the legendary lagoon of Guatavita. From here, take a half hour walk to the breathtaking lagoon.  Then in the afternoon, we drive on a non-paved road to reach the house of local farmers, where we will be having lunch with local families. (B, L)

Transfer to the airport and take a flight to Armenia (cost not included). We will be met and transferred to our hotel. In the afternoon, be immersed into the world of coffee. At the end, a personal mixed coffee is waiting for each of us.

In the afternoon, visit Salento, an idyllic village. Finally, journey to Filandia. This place is situated on a hill and its viewpoint offers magnificent views of the Cordillera. On a clear day, see the snow-capped peaks of the Nevados National Park in the distance. (B)
