Day 01: Arrive Bogota
This afternoon we are scheduled to arrive Bogota Airport, where we will be met & transferred to the hotel. Check in time starts from 1500 hrs. The rest of the day is free at leisure.
Overnight: Hotel Augusta or Hotel de la Opera, Bogota (3 nights)
Day 02: Bogota
This morning we visit Bogota´s market place and take in the sites and sounds of local people going on about their daily lives. We may want to take a break at one of the simple but delicious food stands to sample the typical dishes of that region. Visit La Candelaria, which is a historic neighborhood in downtown Bogotá. It is the equivalent to the Old City in other cities. The architecture of the old houses, churches and buildings has Spanish Colonial and Baroque styles. It houses several universities, libraries and museums. Walk across the main square Simon Bolivar, along the government buildings and reach the famous Gold Museum, which houses the world’s largest collection of pre-Hispanic gold art. Visit also Fernando Botero Museum, the well-known Colombian painter and sculptor. (B)
Day 03: Bogota
Today we drive to the fertile plateau to Zipaquirá to visit the famous underground salt cathedral, 120 m (394 ft) long and a total of more than 8500 square meters. A monumental architectural masterpiece built by the miners' own hands. Inside we find crosses, angels and the Madonna statue. In addition to the main cathedral, there are small chapels and Stations of the Cross; its 14 stations are interconnected through labyrinthine tunnels. Next we will be driving up to over 3000 m (9840 ft) to the entrance of the legendary lagoon of Guatavita. From here, we take a half hour walk to the lagoon. Then in the afternoon we drive on a non-paved road to reach the house of local farmers where you we will be having lunch with local families. (B, L)
Day 04: Bogota/Armenia (Flight)
Transfer to the airport and take a flight to Armenia (air ticket not included). We will be met & transferred to our hotel. In the afternoon get an experiential immersion in the world of coffee. Through to seven stations one has to pass, smelling, feeling, trying and plucking the beans, learning about the drying and roasting. An accompanying specialist in coffee meanwhile will give all necessary information. At the end a personal mixed coffee is waiting for you.

Day 05: Armenia/Coffee Triangle/Armenia
Today you will drive through the enchanting scenery of the coffee area in the Cocora valley. This area is decorated with a variety of wax palms, which extend up to 60 meters. Then afternoon visit Salento, an idyllic village with its typical architecture. Finally, you go to Filandia. This place is situated on a hill and with its view point offers magnificent views of the Cordillera. On a clear day you can see the snow-capped peaks of the Nevados National Park in the distance. (B)
Day 06: Armenia/Bogota (Flight)/Cartagena (Flight)
In the morning we are transferred to the airport for flights to Cartagena via Bogota (air tickets not included). m. Outside the old town, the modern age has developed. Upstream island chains and beaches around the city make the city a popular tourist destination.

Day 07: Cartagena
Today’s city tour includes the monastery of La Popa. The monastery is situated on the highest mountain in the city. Next is a photo-stop to Fort San Felipe, whose mighty fortress dominates the city's image. From there continue into the colonial old town of Cartagena. We’ll take a stroll through the city and its magnificent mansions, narrow alleys and churches. Finally, we visit the Jesuit church and its monastery of San Pedro Claver. (B)
Day 08: Depart Cartagena
Check out time is by 1100 hrs. We will be transferred to the airport for your flight out. (B)
