Bestway Tours & Safaris was founded in 1978 by three brothers educated on three continents, thousands of miles from home. In keeping with the company's philosophy of personalized, specialty travel, we have built a reputation over the years for our product knowledge and service excellence. Our headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and we maintain longstanding relationships with our local suppliers in over 50 countries and hold strong standing memberships in the following organisations: ACTA, BBB and BBOT.

In any tour, especially to a culturally rich country, it is essential that the tour guides are not only knowledgeable of the country, its history, culture, people, flora and fauna, but they are equally competent in delivering the information to visiting ambassadors.
The whole business of tourism, to us, is creating a sense of understanding, of ambassadorship. We stress the exploration of different cultures and history. When selecting our the tour guides, we take these and several other factors into account.
Our guides are conversant with English and we do not normally use a translator (unless there is a special field or interest that has to be covered). All of our guides hold a government tourist guide license (where required) and are educated and experienced.
The rules for guiding and escorting differ from country to country. In most countries we have one guide accompanying the tourists from the beginning to the end.
Where guides change, which may happen when we cross from one country to another, the transition has been pre determined and runs very smoothly.
"Choosing which hotels to use in our tour programs is a decision that we take very seriously. Our selection process is rigorous and some of what we look at includes the management team, comfort level, decor, amenities, location and performance record of the establishment. Thus, the hotels we use offer fine exquisitely appointed guest rooms and suites, internationally acclaimed cuisine, and exceptional leisure facilities designed to create a delightfully memorable travel experience.
Where possible, we prefer to use historical and heritage properties that meet the above criteria as it is in keeping with our philosophy of travel as an experiential journey.
There are certain tours where, due to the nature of the tour program and local conditions, we may use budget properties and tents / camps. The tour itineraries stipulate the names of the hotels we use.
The meal plan for each tour is indicated on a day-to-day basis in each itinerary. We have tried to offer a wide range of cuisine in our itineraries giving careful consideration to the local specialties available in each region. We also try to offer meals in different restaurants as well as the hotel itself. Whenever lunch is included for the tour, it is usually based on a set menu due to time considerations.
Dinners, on the other hand, may consist of a scrumptious buffet or a set menu. With the rare exception, all of our tour itineraries feature meals included within the tour cost.

With more than 40 years of experience in planning and operating tours worldwide we are also prepared to offer tailor-made private travel itineraries that recognize your individuality and do not overcrowd your point of view.
Perhaps you find one of our scheduled itineraries appealing, but the dates don't work for you, or we don't offer a tour to a site you would like to see, perhaps you simply prefer to travel on your own tailor-made itinerary. If so, you should know that we offer a highly specialized and rare travel service and custom-designed independent holidays anywhere. In these days of fax, phone and Internet access, it is quite possible to book your own flights and hotels nearly anywhere in the world, however we offer unmatched expertise and an intimate knowledge of our destinations, providing us with the information necessary to make your journey a memorable one.
