Day 01: Arrive Amman
Ahlan Wasahlan (Welcome in Arabic). Upon arrival at Queen Alia Intl Airport in Amman, we are warmly welcomed and transferred to our hotel. Hotel check in starts from 1400 hrs. Jordan is home to more than 100,000 archaeological, religious and tourist sites including Petra, the Dead Sea, Wadi Rum and Jerash, to name just a few. The country is amongst the very few rightful claimants of “Where It All Began” and yet we can see most of the sites in just under a week! Balance of the day is free. Your hotel is ideally located so you can take a stroll around the city. Dinner is included if your arrival.

Day 02: Amman/Jerash/Amman (Drive)
After breakfast, the morning is dedicated to the ancient city of Jerash, generally acknowledged to be one of the best-preserved Roman provincial towns in the world. The Gerasa of Antiquity features colonnaded streets, temples, theatres, spacious public squares and baths will take us to the times when all this indicated civilisation at its zenith. Afternoon we drive to the capital city, Amman. Here we explore the archaeological site known as the Citadel, the Roman Theatre, the Jordan Archaeological Museum, the Folklore Museum and one of Amman’s many art galleries. We get a good picture of the old and contemporary Amman. Evening, enjoy dinner at Windmehl Restaurant with its popular Mixed Grill or Manasaf. Mansaf is a traditional Levantine dish made of lamb cooked in a sauce of fermented dried yogurt and served with rice or bulgur. It is a popular dish eaten throughout the Levant. It is considered as the national dish of Jordan, and is also popular in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Syria. (B, D)
Day 03: Amman/Desert Castles/Dead Sea (Drive)
Early this morning we head out to the visit the Desert Castles and see the beautiful examples of both early Islamic art and architecture. Qasr Al-Mushatta, Qasr A-Kharrana, Qasr A-Tuba and Qasr Al-Hallabat, Qasir Amra* (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) stand testament to a fascinating era in the country's rich history. We also visit the black basalt fort at Azraq, headquarters of Lawrence of Arabia during the Arab Revolt. After exploring the castles, we drive to the famous historical site of the Dead Sea. After check in we have time to explore on our own pace the Dead Sea. Here you can go down to the lowest spot on earth and experience floating in the waters of the Dead Sea. Visit the Baptism Site “Bethany Beyond the Jordan” (Al-Maghtas)* and explore the archaeological site and the area of the churches of Saint John the Baptist near the river. Situated in a pristine natural environment, the site is believed to be the location where Jesus of Nazareth was baptized by John the Baptist. This is a well-known Christian pilgrimage site and you have time to enjoy it. Balance of the day is free to further explore the site.

Day 04: Dead Sea/Umm al Rassas/Madaba/Mt. Nebo/Kerak/Wadi Rum (Drive)
We have free time in the morning to enjoy the Dead Sea and its many sites. At noon we embark on the 5,000-year-old Kings' Highway. We will see some of the finest Byzantine church mosaics at Umm ar Rassas *, followed by Madaba, known for its spectacular mosaics, including the famous 6th century mosaic map of Jerusalem & the Holy Land. We then head to Mt. Nebo, reputed to be the burial site of Moses (not proven yet) and drive through the magnificent scenery of Wadi Mujib. Our destination is Wadi Rum.
Also known as the Valley of the Moon, Wadi Rum is a desert landscape stretching into the horizon, the red, sandy terrain punctuated by fantastic rock formations, craggy mountains and narrow canyons. Set among the red dunes of Wadi Rum, the Mazayen Camp offers private and shared Bedouin-style tents and an excellent location to explore the Jordanian Desert. Optional camp activities include jeep and camel trips to admire the Seven Pillars of Wisdom and a special optional tour which follows the route of Lawrence of Arabia invading Aqaba. Evening, guests sit around the camp fire and taste authentic, freshly prepared Bedouin dishes.

Day 05: Wadi Rum/Petra (Drive)
For the early risers, enjoy the spectacular sunrise at Wadi Rum. The most famous and easily accessible place to view this is the so-called “Little Bridge”. The brilliantly colored sands and stark rock formations of Jordan’s Wadi Rum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, make this desert wilderness a must-visit for most travelers to Jordan. After breakfast followed by a jeep safari, we are in for a treat at the majestic pink city of Petra*- an ancient Nabatean city set deep inside a narrow desert gorge. We walk through a long chasm to Petra's most dramatic monuments, the Treasury and also explore the Roman Theater, the Courts, Qasr Bint Pharaoun, the Temple of the Winged Lion and the Monastery with a break for an optional lunch. After our breath-taking exploration of Jordan’s most famous monument, we have the balance of the time to ourselves.

Day 06: Petra/Amman/Departure
Morning, we now prepare to bid farewell as we are driven back to Amman airport for our departure flight. After a fascinating insight to the land “where it all began” we are transferred to the airport for our departure flight.
