Day 01: Depart Vancouver/Hong Kong

Our exciting 2-country tour of Hong Kong and Vietnam begins. We start our journey on the award winning Hong Kong Airlines fl ight for a direct Vancouver-Hong Kong departure, crossing the International Date Line.

Day 02: Arrive Hong Kong

After a comfortable and an enjoyable fl ight, we arrive at one of the most well known island countries of the world, Hong Kong. We are warmly received and transferred to our hotel. Balance of day is free to recover from the long haul flight.

Overnight: Metropark Hotel Kowloon (2 nights)

Day 03: Hong Kong

This morning we explore some of the most well known highlights of Hong Kong including the Victoria Peak, Aberdeen fi shing village, Repulse Bay, Stanley Market. Afternoon free to enjoy Hong Kong both for sightseeing and shopping – the best known activities for any tourist visiting Hong Kong. (B)

Day 04: Hong Kong/Hanoi (Flight) (VIETNAM)

Morning transfer to the airport for our fl ight to Hanoi, the capital of fast upcoming country of Vietnam. Here we are met and transferred to our hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Our Welcome Dinner tonight will be served at a local restaurant.

Day 05: Hanoi

We start with a visit to Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (view from outside). We continue our visit to the Temple of Literature, the first university in Vietnam dating back to the 11th century. Next stop is the Ethnology museum which offers a fascinating insight into Vietnam’s ethnic minority groups. Lunch will be the Vietnamese “Pho” (noodle soup) has been popular with many chain restaurants all over the world. Another cultural interaction as we hop on a traditional bicycle rickshaw and move at leisure pace that’s perfect for photos and slow-moving sightseeing. Following, we stop at a local coffee shop for a short Egg Coffee Making demonstration. Returning to our hotel. (B, L)

We depart viewing countryside scenery by road to Ha Long Bay, a World Heritage Area known for its outstanding natural beauty with its fascinating caves, pristine beaches, picturesque fl oating villages, fantastic rock formations rising up out of emerald water. While on board by, we will also attend our chef’s cooking demonstration and try our skills in the art of traditional Vietnamese cooking.

Day 07: Halong Bay/Hanoi (Drive)/Saigon (Flight)

We enjoy some delights with the brunch while the boat is returning to the pier. Disembarkation from the boat, we transfer to the airport for our onward fl ight to Saigon- the offi cial name now is Ho Chi Minh City. With the mix of colonial architecture and contemporary high-rises, this dynamic city is really on the move. Upon arrival at Saigon, we are welcomed by our guide then transferred to our hotel. Balance of the day is free at leisure.

Overnight: Paragon Hotel (3 nights) (B/Br)

Day 08: Saigon

Our tour of this incredible and lively city starts with a visit of the War Remnants Museum. Continue to the Reunifi cation Palace, former residence of the Indochina Governor General and later President of the Republic of Southern Vietnam until the fall of Saigon in April 30, 1975. We continue visiting the Notre Dame Cathedral & the Central Post Offi ce before returning to the hotel for rest. In the afternoon, we drive to Cho Lon district to visit Thien Hau Temple and the biggest wholesale market in Saigon before returning to our hotel. Evening is free to enjoy shoppings, etc. (B)

Day 09: Mekong Delta

We drive out to the Mekong Delta area, the place that has been known as “the land of coconut”. Here we board a traditional boat for a short leisure trip on the river, enjoy the amazing scenery of the Delta. We add yet another traditional activity on the rowing boat for a trip along the canal before arriving in a tranquil village where we take a short walking tour to experience the daily life of the villagers in the Mekong Delta area. We stop at the local restaurant for our lunch,
served with the local specialties. After an incredible experience with fun and laughter we are driven back to Saigon. As it is our fi nal day in Viet Nam, we celebrate our Vietnam trip with a farewell dinner at a local restaurant. (B, L, D)

Day 10: Saigon/Hong Kong/Vancouver (Flights)

After an interesting insight into Vietnam, one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, we are transferred to the airport for our Hong Kong airlines fl ight, for an early morning fl ight to Hong Kong where we have a short transit before taking our fl ights back home making us arrive home at Vancouver the same day.
