Welcome to Nairobi! At the airport, we are met just outside the custom hall at the pick-up point, then transferred to our hotel.

Overnight: Sarova Panafric Hotel/Eka Hotel, Nairobi (1 night)

Day 02: Nairobi/Lake Nakuru National Park (Drive)

Group of Flamingos feeding in a water hole

After an early breakfast, we start our safari with a scenic drive of the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park*. We arrive at the park in time to enjoy a mid-day game drive as we drive to our lodge. Check in followed by a hot lunch. Later in the afternoon, another game drive adventure as we search for rhino, Rothschild giraffe, waterbuck, zebra, leopard and more. The park is an ornithological paradise. The scenic lake’s abundance of algae attracts a vast number of flamingos and other water birds. We return to our lodge for dinner.

Overnight: Sopa Lodge/Sarova Lion Hill Lodge, Lake Nakuru National Park (1 night) (B, L, D)

Day 03: Lake Nakuru National Park/Masai Mara Game Reserve (Drive)

Today, we travel from Lake Nakuru to the world-famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. We drive southwest via Narok, through the Great Rift Valley escarpment. In this stunning landscape, red-clad Maasai warriors tend their herds of cattle among the wildlife, admirably unmoved by the presence of large predators. Every summer, over 2 million animals migrate to the Mara from the Serengeti in Tanzania. After lunch at our lodge, we embark on one of the most exciting game drives African safari trips can offer, with the opportunity to see lion, leopard, cheetah and a large variety of herbivores. More than 400 resident and migratory bird species have also been recorded here.

Overnight: Mara Leisure Camp/Azure Mara Haven, Masai Mara (2 nights) (B, L, D)

Day 04: Masai Mara

Rhinoceros grazing in a forest

An adventurous day ahead as we enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the spectacular Masai Mara Game Reserve. Blessed with a permanent water supply, Masai Mara has a year-round population of plains game. All of the Big Five animals – elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and rhino – are quite common on this scenic grassland. The Mara is actually an extension of the Serengeti and is thus home to all the animals that the Serengeti is so well known to have. An optional popular activity is an early morning balloon safari followed by champagne breakfast right in the middle of the park, giving us a birds-eye view of the vast Mara. Please contact Bestway Tours & Safaris to prebook. (B, L, D)

Day 05: Masai Mara/Nairobi (Drive)

Enjoy our last day in the spectacular Masai Mara with a morning game drive. Later, we make our way back to the lodge for a hot lunch. Afterwards, we return to Nairobi, spotting game en route. Optional stop at Masai Manyatta, a traditional Masai homestead (US$ 50 per person). We travel to Nairobi via Narok county, enjoying enchanting views of the Great Rift Valley.

Overnight: Sarova Panafric Hotel/Eka Hotel, Nairobi (1 night) (B, L, D)

Day 06: Nairobi/Amboseli (Drive)

giraffe and zebra enjoying each other company

After breakfast, we make our way to Amboseli National Park, located on the border of Kenya and Tanzania, and at the foot of the famous Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak.  After hot lunch at the lodge, we embark on an afternoon game drive. Amboseli is famous for its vast herds of elephants and stunning views of Kilimanjaro on clear days, so be sure to have cameras ready! Also found here are lion, leopard, buffalo, cheetah, wildebeest, giraffe and baboon.

Overnight: Kilima Safari Camp/Kibo Safari Camp, Amboseli (1 night) (B, L, D)

Day 07: Amboseli/Depart Nairobi (Drive)

Following breakfast, we check out and go on our final game drive. We bid farewell to Kenya as we make our way back to Nairobi. Another possibility to visit Masai Manyatta (US$50 per person) or explore the curios shop for souvenirs. Scheduled arrival at Nairobi Airport is 1600hrs. So do make sure your departure flight is booked accordingly. Or, extend your adventure with some cultural experiences and relaxation in Zanzibar or join one of our gorilla safaris in Uganda and Rwanda. (B, L)
