Day 01: Arrive Santa Cruz

Galapagos Tortoise, Ecuador

Our adventure begins upon landing at Baltra Airport, where our team will be waiting to welcome us and assist with the transfer to Santa Cruz Island. Our first stop is the lush Highlands Reserve, where we’ll walk among giant Galapagos tortoises in their natural habitat and explore underground lava tunnels shaped by ancient volcanic activity. These remarkable creatures can live well over 100 years, with some known to surpass 150, making them among the longest-living vertebrates on Earth. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, a renowned conservation center where we’ll learn about the giant tortoise breeding program and ongoing efforts to preserve the islands’ delicate ecosystems. Later, we’ll head to our chosen hotel in Puerto Ayora for a relaxing evening.

Overnight: Hotel in Santa Cruz (4 nights)

Days 02 & 03: Island Hopping

Blue-footed booby, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

Over the following two days, we’ll set out on full-day excursions to explore some of the Galapagos Islands’ most breathtaking and untouched locations. Each day features a visit to one of these remarkable islands, selected based on availability:

  • North Seymour – Wander among colonies of blue-footed boobies and frigate birds during their elaborate mating displays. Snorkel in clear waters frequented by sea lions, reef sharks, and rays.
  • Bartolomé Island – Climb to the summit near Pinnacle Rock for one of the archipelago’s most iconic panoramic views. Later, snorkel alongside Galapagos penguins and vibrant marine life.
  • Santa Fe Island – Discover the unique Santa Fe land iguana, found nowhere else on Earth, and enjoy snorkeling in turquoise waters home to sea turtles and rays.
  • South Plazas – Meander through striking red sesuvium-covered terrain while observing land iguanas and taking in dramatic coastal cliffs.

Each excursion features a freshly prepared lunch served onboard, and offers excellent opportunities for hiking, snorkeling, and encountering the islands’ extraordinary wildlife. (B, L) (B, L)

Day 04: Santa Cruz - Tortuga Bay & Las Grietas

Iguana on the white sand of Tortuga Bay, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador.

We’ll begin the day at Tortuga Bay, one of the most stunning beaches in the Galápagos. As we walk along its pristine white-sand shoreline, we’ll spot marine iguanas basking in the sun and Darwin’s finches flitting through the mangroves. At Playa Mansa, we’ll have the chance to kayak in calm, sheltered waters, often shared with sea turtles and baby sharks. After lunch, we’ll continue to Las Grietas, a spectacular natural swimming spot where crystal-clear waters run between dramatic volcanic rock formations. Here, we can swim and snorkel in the unique mix of salt and freshwater. We’ll spend our final evening in Puerto Ayora. (B)

Day 05: Depart Santa Cruz

After breakfast, we’ll take in one last view of the turquoise sea and striking volcanic scenery before making our way to Baltra Airport for the return flight to mainland Ecuador. (B)
