This exciting 15-day overland safari from Victoria Falls and back takes us through some of Zimbabwe and Botswana’s most magnificent game reserves. Game highlights include Hwange National Park, Moremi Game Reserve, Khwai River, Okavango Delta and the incredible Chobe National Park. Day 01: Arrive Victoria Falls (ZIMBABWE)
Upon arrival at Victoria Falls Airport, we will be met and transferred to our hotel. Balance of the day is free until 6PM, when we have a meeting with our safari guide and other participants and get a briefing of the exciting safari ahead of us. Sit back and relax or participate in some of the many exciting activities that the area has to offer, including a helicopter flight over the majestic Victoria Falls, a Historical Bridge tour, a canopy tour, or a traditional Boma dinner.

Day 02: Victoria Falls
We will have today at leisure to explore Victoria Falls*, a breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage Site. Contact Bestway Tours & Safaris to arrange an optional guided walking tour of the falls for US$ 50. We will also have the opportunity to enjoy the town and its unique offerings, from adventure activities to cultural experiences. Experience a traditional village tour, a horseback safari, a gorgeous hike through Batoka Gorge or a variety of other unique excursions. In the afternoon, we embark on a relaxing cruise on the mighty Zambezi River, baking in the afterglow of the day. (B)
Day 03: Victoria Falls/Caprivi (Drive) (NAMIBIA)
After breakfast, we head across the Kazungula border into Namibia, driving through the Caprivi Strip to our camp situated on the banks of the Kwando River. The area is lush and water-rich compared to the rest of Namibia, drawing abundant wildlife and villagers sustained by the large rivers and wetlands. We will arrive at our lodge in the late afternoon to enjoy sunset overlooking the river and spotting crocodiles and hippos.

Day 04: Caprivi/Okavango Delta (Drive) (BOTSWANA)
This morning, we start early as we embark on a game drive in the Greater Bwabwata National Park, which extends from the Kavango River in the west to the Kwando River in the east. This park incorporates the Mahangu Game Reserve, where elephant, roan, kudu and buffalo, as well as prolific birdlife, are likely to be seen. Afterwards we cross over the border into Botswana and head to Etsha 13 on the Western border of the Okavango Delta*, which is home to huge concentrations of game.

Day 05: Okavango Delta
The Okavango Delta is unique because, unlike other deltas, it flows into the Kalahari Desert without reaching the coast. A unique adventure today as we explore the Okavango’s network of water pathways through thick vegetation in mokoros (traditional dugout canoes), discovering a variety of birds and wildlife. We have the opportunity to stop at a secluded island and take a 1.5 hour guided walk to spot elephant, waterbuck and other animals living in this water-filled paradise. Day 06: Okavango Delta/Khwai River (Drive)
After breakfast, we head south, travelling via Maun to our camp situated in a private concession in the Khwai River region. This large area is renowned for its concentration of mammals and it is not unusual to see many different types of wildlife during just one game drive, including elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog. The area is also famous for its large concentration of raptors.

Day 07: Khwai River
An exciting opportunity today as we explore the Khwai River region on morning and afternoon game drives, spotting a variety of game that frequent this region. After dinner, our guide will take us on a night drive with the chance to spot some of the area’s rare nocturnal animals. (B, L, D)
Day 08: Khwai River/Moremi Game Reserve/Khwai River (Drive)
Today we head into the famous Moremi Game Reserve, known as one of the most beautiful and varied reserves for African safari vacations. Moremi is in the central and eastern areas of the Okavango Delta, and offers an unprecedented concentration of wildlife. With the recent re-introduction of the black and white rhino, Moremi is a Big Five game-viewing destination that also offers the chance to see more than 400 species of bird. (B, L, D)
Day 09: Khwai River/Nata (Drive)
Leaving the bush behind us, we travel east towards the Makgadikgadi Pans, once a large river fed lake which has now become saline and empty. This area incorporates a multitude of salt pans and vast grass plains dotted by palm islands. Together, these form the Great Makgadikgadi, which is the largest area of salt pans in the world, covering some 37,000 square kilometers. We arrive at our lodge in the late afternoon with free time to relax for the remainder of the day.

Day 10: Nata/Chobe National Park (Drive)
In the morning, we head to Nata Bird Sanctuary. The drive offers us the opportunity to enjoy the magnificent view over the Sowa pan, which is part of the Greater Makgadikgadi Pans (visit to the pans is subject to road conditions, water levels and time constraints). After breakfast, we continue our journey North to Kasane, the gateway to Chobe National Park. Chobe, which is the second largest national park in Botswana, covers 10,566 square kilometers. It also has one of the greatest concentrations of elephant found on the African continent. The afternoon is spent at leisure either partaking in optional activities or relaxing by the pool.

Day 11: Chobe National Park
We start our morning with a spectacular game drive in Chobe National Park. We return to the lodge for a late breakfast and relaxation until our boat cruise on the Chobe River, which starts around 3PM. Enjoy game viewing by boat, watching elephants, hippos, crocodiles and a variety of birds. We will be near enough for close-up photographs, so no need to reach for binoculars! (B, D)
Day 12: Chobe National Park/Hwange (Drive) (ZIMBABWE)
Today we cross overland into Zimbabwe and to our lodge, located in a private concession near Hwange National Park. We will spend the next three nights in this wildlife-rich area. This afternoon, time permitting, we will have the opportunity to partake in an optional game drive.

Day 13 & 14: Hwange
Over the next two days, we will have plenty of time to explore this vast wilderness on game drives. Hwange National Park is one of Africa’s finest havens for wildlife and is home to vast herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra, as well as a very large concentration of giraffe. What more, it is home to many predators, endangered species and varied bird life. We will also visit the Painted Dog Conservation Centre to witness the work being done to protect these endangered species. (B, L, D) (B, L, D)
Day 15: Chobe/Depart Victoria Falls
Our exciting African safari vacation comes to an end as we are transferred to Victoria Falls Airport for our departure flight. A great opportunity to extend your Botswana experience wiith our other African experience. (B)
