JAMBO: Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Nairobi, we are welcomed outside the customs hall at the designated meeting point by our safari guide. The land of Hakun Matata and the traditional Bestway welcome and assistance with our luggage and we are transferred to our hotel. Balance of the day is free. No meals included today.

Overnight: Eka Hotel/Sarova Pan Afric Hotel, Nairobi (2 nights)

After breakfast, we meet the other folks in this adventure, and then we jump into our 8-seater jeep with window seating for each participant. Our 4x4 also comes with an 18-inch popup roof, chiller with complimentary 1 liter of water per person for each safari day and also included battery charging services. A scenic 250 Kms. drive to Tsavo East - Kenya's largest and most iconic wildlife reserve. The park is famous for its breathtaking landscapes and remarkable diversity of wildlife, including vast herds of red-dusted Elephants, Rhinoceroses, Buffaloes, Lions, Leopards, Hippos, Crocodiles, Waterbucks, Lesser Kudus, Gerenuks, and the rare Hirola antelope. After a hot lunch at our lodge, we experience our first Wild Game safari. We will have excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography, setting the stage for an unforgettable safari experience. We enjoy a 2-nights stay at Tsavo East.

Overnight: Ashnil Aruba Lodge/Sentrim Tsavo Camp (2 nights) (B, L, D)

After an early breakfast, we explore the vast open savannahs, acacia woodlands, the Galana River, and the famous Yatta Plateau—the world's longest lava flow. It is renowned for its iconic red-dusted elephants and is home to Lions, Leopards, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Hippos, Crocodiles, numerous Antelope species, and over 500 species of birds. Hot lunch at our lodge with rest time before we embark on our 2nd safari of the day.  Our afternoon 3.5 hrs. safari will scout a different area of the park as wildlife becomes increasingly active. Activities of the day include bird watching, scenic photography, cultural experiences, nature walks (where permitted) and lots of images. (B, L, D)

West National Park is renowned for its dramatic volcanic landscapes, rolling hills, lava flows, and natural springs offering a striking contrast to the open plains of Tsavo East. The park is home to the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, an important refuge for the endangered black rhino, as well as elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, kudu, oryx, dik-dik, and more than 600 bird species. We arrive at our lodge in time for a hot lunch lunch before setting out for an afternoon safari to explore the park's diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife.

Today we aim for the iconic Amboseli with the back drop of Mt Kilimanjaro - world’s highest free-standing mountain. Kilimanjaro at 5895 m/19342 ft, is located in Tanzania but it is at Amboseli in Kenya where one gets the best view. Amboseli is known for its innumerable elephant herds, breathtaking views with an excellent opportunity to interact with the famous Maasai tribe who reside at the bordering towns of the two countries. The park features diverse ecosystems including open plains, acacia woodlands, swamps, and wetlands that attract a wide variety of wildlife. Visitors can expect sightings of herds and herds of elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and numerous bird species. A day for excellent game drives across the park, with excellent opportunities for photography. We have a 2-nights stay at Amboseli at the incredible Amboseli.

Enjoy a full day exploring Amboseli National Park, with two game drives across the park’s open plains and swamp-fed ecosystems. Amboseli is celebrated for its dramatic scenery, especially the iconic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, provides one of the most photographed safari views in Africa. The park is particularly famous for its large elephant herds, often seen moving gracefully across the plains. Other wildlife commonly sighted includes lions, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and a rich variety of bird species. Beyond wildlife, Amboseli also offers a strong cultural dimension and encounters with the local Maasai communities, adding depth to the safari experience. A scenic journey to Lake Nakuru National Park which lies at the floor of the Great Rift Valley and is surrounded by wooded and bushy grasslands. The park is well known for its rich biodiversity, including both greater and lesser flamingos, a wide variety of water birds, and iconic species such as black and white rhinoceroses, making it one of Kenya’s key destinations for the “Big Five” experience. Upon arrival, enjoy an en-route game drive as we enter the park, taking in its breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife. Late afternoon we check into our lodge located on the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley followed by a hot lunch. Thereafter we enjoy another game drive. Lake Nakuru is home to both the black and white rhinos, predators and primates include lions, hyenas and leopards. Subject to weather, we may also see the flamingos. Their movement depends on the water level and algae.

Today, another major day of activity as we head for the world’s most well African game park – Masai Mara. We drive through the Kenyan rural areas before reaching Masai Mara for a hot lunch at our lodge. The Masai Mara is world-renowned as a vast expanse of protected savannah wilderness located in south-western Kenya along the Tanzanian border. It is home to an exceptional concentration of wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, elephants, zebras, and hippos. The reserve is especially famous for the annual wildebeest migration that traverses its plains. Masai Mara is part of the Serengeti Savanah of which 30% is in Kenya and the rest in Tanzania. A humongous afternoon game safari experience at the MM where we have a 2-night stay.

Overnight: Mara Serena Safari Lodge/Mara Sarova Camp or Mara Serena Simba Lodge (2 nights) (B, L, D)

Masai Mara is as yet another favorite for the Hot Air Balloon. This is an optional activity timed well to get the best viewing of wildlife as they wake up and search for their meals of the day. See details under “Notes”. We spend a full day exploring the Masai Mara with both morning and afternoon game drives. This provides excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography in one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations. The reserve supports a permanent population of plains game thanks to its year-round water supply. Game here also include the “Big Five” — elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, and rhinos. Depending on the routes we take we may have box lunch enroute or a hot lunch. (B, L, D)

Our destination today is to the plains of Serengeti which is the larger portion of the Masai Mara but is in Tanzania. Today is a long drive enjoying wildlife viewing for the most part. We journey to the Isebania/Sirari border crossing and after immigration formalities enter Tanzania and change to Tanzanian vehicles and a local Tanzanian guide who is best placed to show us (off) his country. We drive via the Lake Victoria region and pass-through areas such as Speke Bay and Lamadi. Lake Victoria is the largest largest tropical lake in the world and the second-largest freshwater lake globally by surface area. It is famously known as the source of the White Nile and was named by explorer John Speke in honor of Victoria, the then emperor of the UK in 1858. Whilst on this enchanting drive we will see score of the many animals that Serengeti is famous for. Box lunch in the game park and then at Serengeti National Park we enter via the Ndabaka Gate on the western side of the park. 

Overnight: Serengeti Kirawira Tented Camp/Mbalageti Serengeti Tented Lodge (1 night) (B, L, D)

Serengeti is a massive 15,000 sq Kms protected reserve and is world famous for offering the best opportunity to see the Great Migration. You can start the Serengeti experience with an optional Hot Air Balloon Safari (See details under “Notes”.) or drive straight for a full day game viewing. After breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive across the Serengeti National Park, travelling from the western corridor towards the central Serengeti region of Seronera. It is home to the largest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, with immense herds of Wildebeest, Zebra, Gazelle, Topi, Buffalo, and Hartebeest. The park is also renowned for its rich predator population, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. In addition, it supports over 500 species of birds, making it a true paradise for bird enthusiasts. Spend the day enjoying game drives across this iconic landscape, with opportunities for spectacular wildlife sightings and photography.

Overnight: Serengeti Serena Lodge (1 night) (B, L, D)

Truly an unforgettable Serengeti experience. The next mecca is the Ngorongoro Conservation Area witnessing scores of wildlife in action be it the predators chasing or keeping a watchful eye they develop their strategy on their prey. The drive takes us through the Nabi Hills region, with en-route morning game viewing drive as we exit the Serengeti plains. Time permitting, we visit the Olduvai Gorge, one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world, often referred to as the “Cradle of Mankind.” We may also have the opportunity to add an optional visit to an authentic Maasai village for a cultural experience and insight into traditional Maasai lifestyle. Continuing our journey to Ngorongoro to reach early evening for a 2-nights stay. Ngorongoro is a massive 800,000 hectares protected area which includes The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) - a massive, UNESCO-listed protected region in northern Tanzania. Spanning over 800,000 hectares, it is renowned for the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest unbroken and unflooded volcanic caldera. The NCA is unique because it permits semi-nomadic Maasai pastoralists to live and graze their livestock alongside abundant wildlife.

Overnight: Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge/Lions Paw Camp (1 night) (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we descend into one of Africa’s greatest natural wonders — the Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as “Africa’s Eden.” We descend 600 meters into the crater floor for a full-day game viewing experience in this unique and self-contained wildlife sanctuary. The crater is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including the “Big Five” collection of lions, elephants, buffaloes, black rhinos, and leopards. Due to the dense animal population within the crater, sightings are highly rewarding, with frequent opportunities to observe lions and other predators in close proximity. The crater also features a soda lake that attracts flamingos and other bird species, adding to the rich diversity of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Late afternoon, we ascend from the crater and exit the conservation area, continuing to Lake Manyara where we will stay for the night.

After breakfast, enjoy a final safari to Lake Manyara National Park known for its unique tree climbing lions, home also to the largest concentration of the olive Baboons and viewing a number of herds of elephants. After a picnic lunch we have an interesting cultural experience at the Mto wa Mbu, a vibrant cultural village renowned for its rich heritage and successful community-based tourism initiatives. Home to more than 120 ethnic groups, the village offers a fascinating insight into everyday Tanzanian life. Stroll through the local market, meet community members, observe traditional farming and rice-processing practices, and browse for locally crafted souvenirs while learning how tourism supports education, healthcare, sanitation, and local employment. Early afternoon, we drive to Arusha, where our safari concludes as we are dropped at the Arusha Airport (ARK). ARK serves domestic cities like Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam. For those wanting to fly internationally, Kilimanjaro (JRO) Airport is a 1.5 hours drive. From ARK we provide a complimentary transfer JRO. With this, the remarkable Wild Game Safari comes to an end. You will have seen hundreds if not thousands of wild animals in their natural settings. Those who want to add a visit to the historical and white sanded beaches of Zanzibar or wanting to add the Victoria Falls and/or South Africa, this is the place to fly from.
